Existing methods for reproducing a three-dimensional image are described. The properties of various technical solutions are analyzed. The main problems and tasks that need to be solved to improve the quality of reproduction of volumetric displays are identified. Proposed, described and implemented a range of devices for forming a three-dimensional image. The quality indicators of the output volumetric image that affect the perception of the volume effect by the observer are determined. The formalization of the process of the formation of 3D objects as a result of the display as a system has been carried out, the interrelations between the control units, as well as each of the processes of formation have been described in stages. A functional model for the formation of a 3D image based on IDEF0 notations is proposed. Phased decomposition of the process of forming a volumetric image in displays is described. The factors influencing the process of image formation are considered. Describes the tools to create the output three-dimensional image of the required quality. Identified features of the input image that affect the perception of its depth by the observer.
