The article discusses the role that information technologies (IT) could play in modernizing educational control systems, with a particular focus on their application at college level. It adds that the aim of IT instruments would be to increase the efficiency of the educational institutions management processes. The critique relates that new educational systems are now being formed that focus on helping their students enter the global information and educational environment. To do so, the institutions need to raise their efficiency and enhance their quality, and potentially improve their application of IT principles. The paper suggests that one means of achieving this end would be to employ a software-based principle that would organize their training at different levels, examine their pupils and control their progress. Subsequently, the research paper presents an algorithm which could be employed to provide feedback for the management process of training students at college level. The algorithm contains a block diagram on the subject matter of ’web technology’ as an example of a functional automated training system. Feedback – a key element of the software-based principle – would assist the projected training system by providing a choice of the subsequent training step (depending on control of the assimilation process during the previous stage of IT acquisition). In conclusion, acceptance of the complex educational program would enable it to be introduced into the teaching process at all levels and to raise the efficiency of the educational institutions’ ongoing management processes.
