The article considers the acmeological approach (defined as the science of ’mature-person’ development) the methological basis of a system of quality management for teaching at a time when higher education is becoming universal, and the quality and efficiency of the educational process is increasing the level of concern. Acmeological planning, the critique states, comes down to resolving problems of finding reserves of training time by interdisciplinary integration, as well as by reliance on self-study training material and executed projects. Such a redistribution of the study load, the paper relates, would require the development of new educational technologies, plus methods and tools for quality assessment of education. Consequently, the document proposes resorting to visual information and classified educational multimedia objects, with the defined scope of mental maps to improve students’ independent work during in-class teaching and on examinations.
