In the paper it is shown that in the analysis and practical realization of radio engineering devices working at near ranges it is necessary to consider the extended nature of the found object, the multibeam nature of reflection of signals from the object, etc. Practical interest causes determination of parameters of Doppler signal spectrum, reflected from vehicles as the analysis of spectrum allows to measure with big reliability their parameters of movement, in particular speed and acceleration. The results of experimental researches of parameters of Doppler signal spectrum for various models of extended objects are considered in the paper. The analysis and generalization of the received results were carried out by a considerable sample of fragments of Doppler signal spectrum that allows to consider these results to be statistically authentic. The experimental data of width of Doppler signals for various models of the cars used in the experiment have been given for the first time. It is shown that the width of Doppler signal spectrum and, therefore, the accuracy of measuring the speed of movement of the extended object are much influenced by its movement acceleration. Thus, directly proportional dependence is observed: the more the acceleration the wider the range of signal.
