The r?nier or Borassus Aethiopum is a wood used in building constructions and public works for various uses as building material. It has a characteristic woody structure tightened with the palm trees with significant internal tensions. In the same way, an estimate with the naked eye reveals that in the external zone of the trunk the number of fibres is approximately 80 per cm3 and that towards the interior, it is only approximately 40. The external layers of the stem of the Borassus Aethiopum are full and hard with a density equal to 850 of dark brown colour. The analyses and tests using the traditional equipment gave the following results: the tensile strength parallel with fibres is of 10,50 MPa, which with compression parallel with fibres is of 9,25 MPa and perpendicular to fibres of 2,60 MPa. The flexural strengths and to shearing are respectively of 9,14 MPa and 0,65 MPa. The modulus of elasticity was determined and has a value of E = 1590 daN/mm?. The adherence tests to the concrete showed that the average constraint of adherence of the concrete to the cocker spaniel is of 0,293 MPa at 7 days age and of 1,75MPa for 28 days age. For a temperature at the nozzle of 676°C throughout 2 mn, with a moisture of 8,17 %, the sample of Borassus A?thiopum loses 78,54 % of its weight. ¶
