In this article, an approach to developing the knowledge base in medical diagnostic expert system is presented. In modern times, databases have accumulated a very large amount of information related to diseases, along with the expert survey updating knowledge bases, it is advisable to use technology for knowledge extraction from statistical data. As a model of knowledge representation, a hybrid framework combining frame and fuzzy-production model is proposed. Such integration provides the ease and modularity of knowledge management, simplifies and speeds up the procedure of output diagnostic solutions. To configure the parameters of the membership functions of linguistic terms of variables and weights of fuzzy rules, genetic algorithm is applied. The mechanism of delayed consultation, which provides the ability to replenish the knowledge base based on additional polling expert is proposed in controversial diagnosis. Peculiarities of implementation of proposed models and algorithms are considered.
