In article presented the general characteristics of the problem cancer detection, compared the features of various methods of detecting lung diseases and justified the choice the most suitable one. Listed conditions and possibilities of tomography diagnostics for the lung cancer screening. Analyzed software requirements of population screening based on data from X-ray computer tomography. Authors studied the existing software complexes and determined the options, that should be included in the new software product. Identified the possible errors in the planning and realization of population screening. Also considered analyses of pathologies quality requirements on the tomography images of lungs and mathematical model for evaluating the efficiency of malignant tumors detection.
