CASPIAN JOURNAL

MANAGEMENT AND HIGH TECHNOLOGIES

For authors

The results of the researches and the latest developments are presented on the pages of the journal. The leading directions of the journal are reflected in the following groups of professions and fields of science:

  • 05.13.00 "Computer science, computer facilities and management".
  • 05.11.00 "Instrument making, metrology and information-measuring devices and systems".
  • 08.00.00 "Economics".
Its main objectives are to:
  • comply with the topical areas of the journal;
  • follow the guidelines for style and formatting of the published materials;
  • sustain high scientific level of the papers;
  • publish topical papers;
  • rule out plagiarism and other variants of using someone else’s findings of research activity without referring to them in papers.

When a paper is submitted to the editorial staff, the executive editor usually checks the compliance with the topical areas of the journal and correspondence to the guidelines of style and formatting of the material as well as performs initial review.
In case, theme of the paper is not suitable for the journal or the paper does not follow the guidelines of style and formatting, it is not accepted for revision and the author is notified about it.
In this case, the editorial board can additionally suggest the author (authors) the following: forward the paper to other scientific journals, published in Astrakhan State University (according to its theme); change the title of the paper (to ensure the correspondence to the thematic array of the journal); to change the text of the paper (the same objective).
The executive editor arranges revision of the paper content, including revision by university and invited reviewers (see below) if it has the suitable theme and follows the guidelines for style and formatting.

On the basis of the revision the following steps can be taken:
  • A paper can be sent to an author (authors) for re-editing;
  • It can be stated that it is not efficient to publish the material in the journal (rejection of the paper);
  • The material can be accepted as it is or after re-editing.

If it is necessary to correct (revise) a paper, the editorial board can send authors reviews with notes that help the author introduce changes to the paper (with a review being a separate document not included into the text of the paper) and suggestions to change the title of papers, the abstracts, content (addition/deletion/revision of separate parts of the text), reference lists (it can either be a separate document or the notes can be included into the text of the paper forwarded to the author for re-editing). The editorial staff may return the materials to the authors for revision, if it is necessary, more than once.
In case of the paper rejection, the editorial staff may give a negative review on the paper, including a list of remarks and conclusion about inadvisability to publish the paper in the given form. In such a case, the editorial staff will count on further cooperation with authors and check whether the authors have cognizance of the remarks or not in the paper processing and preparation of other materials for publication in the journal.

  • the authors may note additional (in their view) sections for publications - from among those listed on the website of the journal. - Papers should be sent to the editorial office by e-mail (in the electronic form). If necessary, the editorial staff may ask the authors to send materials in "paper form" with the visas of all authors on every sheet.
  • external reviews (see below) should be sent in “scanned copies” by electronic mail. If necessary, the editorial staff may ask to send these reviews in a paper form.
  • authors’ information (including results of materials revision process sent to the special “Antiplagiat” system) should be given in the form of “scanned copies of documents” signed by the authors. If necessary, the editorial staff may ask paper versions of these documents.

Authors can use any email address for all correspondence but it is better not to change it when they do correspondence with the editorial staff. If there are several authors, initially, it is better to write which of the e-mail address will do correspondence.
An author or one of co-authors can submit not more than 2 papers for publishing in one journal issue. However, this fact does not exclude the working process of paper revision of the same authors if this papers are going to be published in other issues of the journal.
The original date of materials submission and the final version of the paper submission are fixed on the date of submission. The editorial staff may indicate this day in the publication. The editorial staff will not indicate the number of processing/editing revisions.

Issue dates of the submitted materials will be indicated due to the following factors:
  • relevance and scientific importance of the paper;
  • the size of the paper;
  • the number of papers that are in the "editorial portfolio" that were published;
  • issue dates of the next journals.

As a general rule, the publication is in the order of paper submission to the editorial office. However, in some cases, the editorial board may publish an extra paper.
