Features of distant students contingent formation in universities are considered. Sources of reception of the information, necessary for educational process planning and rational organization, are described. Possible approaches to information structurization, its representation in information systems, to performance of thematic inquiries are analyzed. The special attention is paid to matters of the operative and final control.
