On the basis of the analysis of the University’s activities it is possible to determine the basic requirements for its information systems. These requirements include support of automation of a wide range of educational processes, as well as support data and applications integration in order to ensure strict relationship between processes and data. There is a short description of the information systems which are exploited at the Astrakhan State University for the various departments’ activities automation. It was concluded that heterogeneous data integration is very important. The existing mechanisms of interaction with external heterogeneous information systems are described. The advantages of service approach technology are shown. The article deals with the procedures related to the processes of transfer of information in electronic form via telecommunication channels between the information systems of the University. To organize the integration process information systems that are sources of raw data to other systems and possible points of integration are defined. There is an example of technical specification for an integration scenario development. The implementation of each integration scenario allows new applications to connect to the scheme of information exchange which will link together all aspects of the University’s activities.
