In the given article the question of estimation of residual resource of the main pipelines having longitudinal superficial damage caused by external corrosion or mechanical influence on the pipe is mentioned. It contains the substantiation and the description of the basic concept of the settlement method known under the name «criterion B31G», used in the developed program complex.
