In the paper it is shown that space inspection in the course of detection of object can be continuous in time or consist of separate instant acts; and in most of practically significant cases continuous inspection is used. In the paper the concept is introduced and instant probabilities of object detection by radio engineering protection devices for various supervision conditions are found. The called characteristics are statistical. Supervision conditions can be considered as bad, normal and good. Use of intensity of purpose detection by range for quantitative assessment of efficiency of protection devices is considered. The concept of detection potential is introduced. It is shown that analytical expression of detection intensity can be defined from the expression of law of distribution of object detection probability by range. The expressions connecting instant probabilities and intensity of detection through speed of movement of object or the period of the review of security system are given. Expressions of estimates of expected probability of detection of motionless and moving object, both in constants, and in changing conditions of supervision are received. Almost important conclusion for application of security systems is that always there is a possibility of detection of object with high probability at certain number of supervision or at certain time of supervision.
