In article is shown importance of solution problems, concerned with the comparison of universities printing activity (PA) scientometric indicators (SMI), including from positions of their scientific image management. For the analysis have been chosen universities of three Russian Caspian regions: Astrakhan region; Republic of Dagestan; Republic of Kalmykia. Authors analyzed SMI of PA, relating to such groups: counted by the Russian index of scientific citing (RISCs) according to all considered publications; derivative values from these indicators; SMI, calculated by RISC for 2010-2014 years; the characteristics, determined by personal SMI of the first 25 most actively published employees of each university. In article are proved normalization expediency for some of considered indicators; approaches, used for normalization. Results of comparisons key PA SMI for regions and universities are presented in tabular and graphic forms.
