The article considers main research areas in humanities with the use of various kinds of classifiers applied in Russia and further ways of application of the results obtained in social and economic system management. The article characterizes aims and peculiarities of planning and conducting of scientific research in humanities; existing approaches to publication of the results obtained, choice of periodicals for such publications. Authors analyze main categories of scientific publications for scientific research in humanities results and demonstrate the place Russian scientific journals take among them. Reasonability of application of the scientific journal “data base” uploaded to the website www.elibrary.ru for research activities is substantiated. Number of scientific journals dedicated to each subject matter of humanities researches, included into the classifier and conforming to specified selection criteria is identified by means of the selection tool uploaded to the web page https://elibrary.ru/titles.asp. A table containing a number of Russian scientific journals of different scientific status, dedicated to each subject matter, is included. The article explains reasons why ordinary summation of scientific journal indexes for separate subject matters can result in overstated indexes for a complex of periodicals under analysis. Authors substantiate principles of identifying leading Russian scientific journals, dedicated to separate subject matter. To compare their main research indexes additional information on such scientific journals is included.
