The article presents the advantages and risks of digitalization of education. Due to the fact that the task of assessing the consequences of the implementation of risks in the organization of distance learning is nontrivial, the authors made an attempt to describe the methodology for assessing the relevance of risks depending on the identified psychological type of the student's personality on the basis of a precedent approach. This technique can be automated for implementation in existing digital educational environments and adapted for use in higher educational institutions and institutions of additional professional education for both students and teachers who conduct educational activities in a distance or mixed mode.
