The article discusses ways of choosing the optimal location for a retail store, taking into account many geographic factors that affect the competitiveness of the establishment. Information for analysis is extracted from open geographic information systems. The methodology described in the article involves the collection of specified geographic data in the surrounding space next to the analyzed coordinates. The nearby space is determined using the algorithm described in the article. This algorithm takes into account the structure of roads, the location of fences, large buildings, elevation differences, streams and other restrictions on free movement. Information is retrieved through API requests of popular map services such as 2GIS, wikimapia, and OpenStreetMap. The attractiveness measure of a retail outlet is based on information about the residential buildings located in the surrounding space, the presence of competitors' organizations, attractive city attractions, as well as the nearby roads and public transport routes. Thanks to open financial sources, the collected data is supplemented with information on the money turnover of the found competitors' organizations. A generalized assessment of the attractiveness of the trading platforms under consideration is made and, on the basis of a comprehensive calculation, a conclusion is made about the dominant options. ELECTRE methods are used for dominant analysis.
