The article is devoted to the improvement of computer learning systems by extending their functionality through the use of technology conceptual design systems. Approaches to improve the quality of training future engineers in the field of motor transport on the basis of combining theoretical knowledge of the subject area, modern methods of engineering creativity and usability of virtual reality in the aspect of historical patterns of development of science and society. It is suggested to use interface and intelligent tutoring system for working with units of the automobile in virtual reality by using the structural and functional models of the unit with its characteristics and limitations.
